MarinHealth Pre-Admission Center

About This Location

There are two aspects to preparing for your surgery. The first is getting scheduled for one convenient visit to take care of your health evaluation, financial counseling, and hospital registration. The second is what you need to do to physically prepare before surgery.

The MarinHealth Pre-Admission Center is committed to providing you with the highest quality care and making preparing for surgery as quick and convenient as possible. Your health and safety is our top priority, and we know you may be experiencing some uncertainty or have questions given the current situation with COVID-19.

Rest assured, we have enhanced our safety measures and are confident that your surgical experience will be a safe one. Some of our added safeguards include:

  • All employees and physicians who may be part of the surgical team involved in your care are equipped with appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and are well trained in safety protocols
  • Universal masking is mandatory in all clinical areas
  • All patients are tested for COVID-19 within 4 days of surgery
  • Our restricted visitor policy remains in effect

We instituted these steps, along with others, in accordance with COVID-19 guidelines from leading public health and medical associations:

  • American College of Surgeons
  • American Society of Anesthesiologists
  • American Hospital Association
  • Association of PeriOperative Registered Nurses
  • Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
  • California Department of Public Health
  • Marin County Public Health Department

To comply with these guidelines, you will need to complete a COVID-19 test within 4 days prior to your surgery. This test will likely be performed as part of a full range of lab tests that must occur before your surgery. Please share a copy of your COVID-19 test results with us via e-mail prior to your appointment. If your test results are positive for the virus, we will cancel and reschedule your procedure, if it can be delayed. Please refer to the following FAQ for more information about surgeries at MarinHealth Medical Center.

If you have any additional questions or concerns, please contact your physician.
