A Referral Program that Always Refers Back to You
When we refer a patient to a specialist, it’s not a handoff: It’s an off-site collaboration between that specialist and your care team at the Men’s Health Center. Our partner referral program is designed to make that collaboration as seamless as possible and address all of your medical needs.
Our partner network includes the following specialties and services:
Our team collaborates with the Cardiovascular Center of Marin (CCM), known for leading edge comprehensive heart care. This practice has esteemed specialists in interventional cardiology, cardiac electrophysiology, structural heart disease, and advanced heart failure. CCM offers a complete continuum of heart care, from heart health education, prevention, state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging and testing services through advanced treatments, and cardiac rehabilitation, including the Ornish lifestyle program for reversing heart disease. CCM’s innovative Cardiovascular Performance Center focuses on heart health, safety, and performance issues for adult professional, recreational, and occupational athletes.
The Men’s Health Center and the Cardiovascular Center of Marin are both affiliated with Marin General Hospital’s renowned Haynes Cardiovascular Institute, with its Certified Chest Pain Center, Designated Primary Stroke Center, and state-of-the-art cath lab.
Endocrinologists specialize in conditions relating to the endocrine system, such as diabetes, glycemic issues, gland disorders, and hormonal imbalances. Our referral partner for endocrinology is the Marin Endocrine Center. One of the conditions most commonly treated by an endocrinologist is diabetes. Marin Endocrine Center physicians and the Men’s Health Center are fortunate to have Marin General Hospital’s Braden Diabetes Center as a resource. This breakthrough program takes a step-by-step approach to diabetes education, support, and help with self management. Braden Diabetes Center is the ideal place for a newly-diagnosed patient to learn how to travel well through life with diabetes.
The orthopedic surgeons we work with have extensive experience with joint replacement surgery and are known for their excellent outcomes. What’s more, our partner surgeons have privileges at Marin General Hospital, which is known for its robust joint replacement, excellent surgical outcomes, and complimentary educational Joint Program. This innovative class covers hip and knee joint replacements, step-by-step, with visual aids including a slide show, anatomical models, and actual hip and knee implants.
According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, the five most common cancers among American men are lung, colorectal, bladder, melanoma, and of course, prostate cancer. There are multiple approaches to treating this common malignancy and our urologists collaborate with oncologists and other experts to determine the best strategy for each individual. Our alliance with Marin General Hospital’s Cancer Institute gives our practice and our patients convenient access to a full range of sophisticated treatment options and advanced technologies.
As part of our goal of caring for a man’s overall health, our team is sensitive to potential mental or emotional issues. We collaborate with Marin General Hospital’s Behavioral Health program to treat depression, bipolar illness, thought, mood, anxiety, or eating disorders, and mental illness combined with substance abuse (dual diagnosis). Behavioral Health offers three hospital-based outpatient programs. Partial Hospitalization provides comprehensive treatment during the day, with patients returning to their homes in the evening. Intensive Outpatient care consists of 1-3 sessions a week. The third program is Dual Diagnosis, an after-hours offering for people with mental illness and substance abuse issues.
As you age, it’s only natural to experience some aches and pains when you move. Some of these can be addressed by a good orthopedist but if the condition affects the joints, ligaments, tendons, or muscles, you probably need to see a rheumatologist. The most common conditions requiring the expertise of a rheumatologist include osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis (RA), lupus, ankylosing spondylitis (AS), psoriatic arthritis (PsA), Sjogren’s syndrome, gout, and scleroderma. We refer our patients to North Bay Rheumatology, a trusted local practice with special expertise in arthritis, lupus and autoimmune diseases.
The Men’s Health Center’s care philosophy focuses on every aspect of your health and wellness. Depending on your needs, you may be referred to a nutritionist, sleep clinic, physical therapy, smoking cessation program, acupuncture, chiropractic care, pain management, or even couples counseling.
